    'front page' of a website, where you get a brief idea of what the site is about.
  • ISP (Internet Service Provider)
    An ISP is a
    company that sells Internet connections to private and business customers, and you connect to the ISP via modem or DSL.
  • Keywords
    This is a list of words that are included in the code of your website, people type these word into the search engine to find your site. These words are highly relevant to the content of your web pages.
  • Link popularity
    By looking at the number and the nature of the links to and from your site a search engine can tell how popular your website is.
  • MySQL
    MySQL is a database program that stores and processes information.
  • Newsgroups
    These are forums that are used
    for exchanging information and views over the internet which are held on newsgroup servers. When you post a message it is copied to other newsgroup servers around the world so other people can read it and reply with their own views.
  • Offline
    This is
    what it is called when you are not connected to the internet.
  • Online
    This is what it is called when you are connected to the internet.

    Moving up or down within a document ON your screen using the scroll bar on the right of the page.
